- Review, draft, and negotiate complex agreements, including grantmaking and program-related investments involving intellectual property rights
- Advise on intellectual property matters, including patent status and licensing considerations
- Troubleshoot legal issues and implement effective solutions in collaboration with internal teams
- Develop and deliver training on legal topics and organizational policies
- Represent the organization internally and externally, including coordination with outside counsel
- Support organizational initiatives by providing legal guidance, improving processes, and implementing policy changes
- Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned
- J.D. from an accredited law school; admission to the New York Bar strongly preferred or eligibility to sit for the exam
- 710 years of transactional intellectual property and/or commercial law experience in a law firm, government, or in-house setting
- Expertise in intellectual property, licensing, corporate transactions, program-related investments, and nonprofit legal matters
- Knowledge of tax and regulatory compliance for tax-exempt organizations, including private foundations
- Strong analytical, research, and writing skills, with the ability to explain complex legal concepts to non-lawyers
- Excellent judgment, integrity, and problem-solving skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple demands, prioritize work, and collaborate effectively across teams
- Experience developing policies, providing training, and implementing practical legal solutions
- Strong communication and presentation skills, attention to detail, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and SharePoint
- Competitive salary range of $280,000$320,000
