We are seeking a meticulous and analytical Rental/Insurance Escrow Analyst to join our loan servicing team. This role is responsible for the ongoing monitoring and management of escrow accounts, with a heavy focus on insurance compliance and tax disbursements for our rental housing portfolio. You will ensure that all properties maintain adequate coverage and that escrowed funds are managed in strict accordance with loan agreements and regulatory requirements.
Key ResponsibilitiesInsurance Compliance & Monitoring- Policy Review: Monitor and review insurance policies (Property, General Liability, Flood, etc.) to ensure compliance with loan documents and investor requirements.
- Renewal Management: Track expiration dates and coordinate with borrowers and insurance agents to obtain updated evidence of insurance prior to policy expiration.
- Compliance Resolution: Identify and resolve coverage deficiencies or lapses, ensuring continuous protection for the portfolio.
- Escrow Analysis: Perform annual escrow analysis to ensure appropriate collection levels and identify any surpluses or deficiencies.
- Disbursement Oversight: Timely and accurate processing of payments for property taxes and insurance premiums from escrow accounts.
- Data Integrity: Maintain accurate records in the servicing system regarding tax cycles, insurance premiums, and escrow balances.
- Audit Readiness: Maintain organized digital files and documentation to support internal audits and regulatory reviews.
- Stakeholder Support: Respond to inquiries from borrowers, insurance agents, and taxing authorities regarding escrowed items.
- Collaborative Support: Work closely with Loan Servicing Officers to ensure a smooth transition during loan onboarding or payoffs.
- Professional Experience: 1–3 years of experience in escrow administration, insurance tracking, or mortgage loan servicing.
- Technical Skills: Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data entry and basic formulas) and experience with loan servicing software.
- Attention to Detail: Exceptional accuracy in managing financial data and reviewing legal/insurance documents.
- Organizational Skills: Proven ability to manage high volumes of time-sensitive tasks and meet strict disbursement deadlines.
- Specialized Knowledge: Familiarity with LIHTC, HUD, or other affordable housing insurance requirements.
- Industry Standards: Understanding of NFIP (National Flood Insurance Program) guidelines and property tax cycles.
