- Define and enforce data architecture and engineering standards across products and teams
- Design scalable, secure, and optimized cloud data architectures that align with business goals
- Collaborate with engineering and product teams to translate requirements into high-level and detailed system designs
- Lead the development and maintenance of data pipelines, lakes, and lakehouse architectures
- Solve complex challenges related to data modeling, optimization, distribution, and storage
- Implement data governance, security, and compliance frameworks
- Provide guidance on architecture decisions, risk assessments, and best practices for cloud and big data technologies
- Deliver solutions incrementally, incorporating feedback from stakeholders and adapting to evolving technical and business needs
- 710+ years of experience in data engineering, architecture, or related roles with cloud and big data technologies
- Advanced proficiency in SQL for analytics and query optimization (Azure Synapse, Oracle, Snowflake, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with data lakes (e.g., Azure Data Lake Storage, Delta Lake) and lakehouse architectures
- Expertise with Databricks and/or Apache Spark (PySpark, Spark SQL) for distributed data processing
- Strong Python skills for scripting, automation, and pipeline development
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, OCI) and orchestration tools such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or Apache Airflow
- Experience designing scalable architectures, optimizing pipelines, and implementing security and governance frameworks
- Relevant certifications preferred (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate, Databricks Certified Associate Developer, CDMP)
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; ability to work cross-functionally and influence technical direction
