SEACORP is seeking a well-qualified Software Engineer II.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Job Description: SEACORP's Platforms Business Area is seeking a talented and driven software engineer to work in a fast-paced Agile environment on unmanned systems. They will research, design, and develop computer and network software or specialized utility programs. Qualified candidates will have at least 2-3 years of work experience in software development.
Job Responsibilities Include:
- Developing new features and fixing software bugs on the ground control station for unmanned systems and other background services.
- Attending daily meetings to provide status on assigned issues and features and collaborating with teammates as well as other contractors is necessary.
- Consult with customers or other departments on project status, proposals, or technical issues, such as software system design or maintenance.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's Degree in Computer, Electrical or Electronics Engineering or Mathematics with a field of concentration in Computer Science.
Experience: Minimum or 2-3 years of related experience.
Ideal Skills and Experience:
- Experience with Angular, Typescript, C++, Python, Bash, Java, OpenDDS as well as familiarity with Linux/Unix, JIRA, Bitbucket, Continuous integration and Deployment (CI/CD), Gitlab & Gitlab CI/CD, Confluence, and UML.
- An active secret clearance is preferred but not required.
Location: Middletown, RI
Travel: Quarterly (approximately 4 times a year)
Clearance: No Clearance Required
Work Environment & Physical Demands: Office & Computer Laboratories - Sitting, standing, extended periods of time using a mouse and keyboard and viewing computer screens. Infrequent lifting of <40lbs. Movement between points within the same office or between buildings. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonality for temperature differences and lighting.
