Description

Under the direction of the FNP and according to established protocols, the RN provides direct ambulatory services for Husson University students and assists with health education and wellness efforts of Student Health Services. Must have availability to work a set schedule of 1-2 days per week.

Examples of Duties

• Triages, assesses, treats and/or refers patients per FNP orders and/or protocols

• Performs venipuncture, administers injections, performs rapid labs tests, processes labs and medication refills

• Acts as support for FNP staff

• Performs quality assurance checks on lab tests and medical supplies

• Maintains medical records, reports lab test results, follows-up with acute patients

• Provides health education and discharge instructions

• Assists in other areas of health center support as required

Typical Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

• Current, unrestricted State of Maine RN Licensure

• Current BLS for Medical Provider Certification
