The Enterprise Automation Engineer’s primary focus is automating the synchronization of data across core business applications. They also work on the development side deploying AI-powered applications that eliminate manual processes at scale focused primarily on the Power Platform along with AI Platforms. This role collaborates with cross-functional teams in an Agile environment, follows coding best practices, and stays current with emerging AI technologies while contributing to secure, scalable, and high-quality applications.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement data synchronization patterns across Shawmut’s technology ecosystem (Procore, CMiC, Hammertech, P6/SmartPM, Microsoft Fabric).
- Build middleware and API layers that enable cross-platform data flow, event-driven automation, and centralized reporting.
- Contribute to Shawmut’s enterprise data architecture strategy, with a focus on making construction data AI-ready through normalization, enrichment, and governance.
- Follow established programming and development standards and procedures and assist in updates/creation as required.
- Participates in and/or Leads architectural reviews and ensures alignment with business goals and technology strategy.
- Assists and/or Leads in the design and implementation of solutions using Microsoft Power Platform, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Copilot Studio, to enhance business processes and data insights.
- Create/Maintain Power Platform PCF Customizations in React
- Utilizes programming languages and object-oriented approaches to build scalable, stable, and secure applications and solutions that meet business requirements and integrate with existing software.
- Leverages GitHub Copilot/Claude Code/Codex
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to ensure agile practices are integrated into the development lifecycle, promoting iterative development, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
- Participates in regular code reviews and provides constructive feedback to ensure high-quality code and adherence to best practices.
- Helps develop and maintain comprehensive documentation for architectural designs, technical specifications, and project plans.
- Identifies and mitigates potential risks associated with architectural decisions, ensuring the stability and security of solutions.
- Stays current with emerging AI and automation technologies - including LLM platforms such as ChatGPT Enterprise, Microsoft Copilot, and Claude - evaluating their potential impact on the company’s technology strategy and identifying opportunities for adoption.
Qualifications
- E2+ years of experience in software development. Construction industry experience is a plus.
- Must have experience with React, SQL and Microsoft Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate)
- Education:Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or a related field required.
- Additional Role Specific Skills:
- Experience with enterprise AI platforms such as ChatGPT Enterprise, Microsoft Copilot Studio, or Claude is a plus; we value curiosity and eagerness to learn these tools over prior experience.
- Experience with SCRUM/Agile is a plus.
- Ability to extract, compare, and manage data in a database.
