This role offers a hands-on leadership opportunity to manage and enhance accounting operations within a fast-growing, remote-friendly environment. You will lead the monthly close process, ensure accurate financial reporting, and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to improve processes and controls. The position provides opportunities to shape accounting procedures, support system implementations, and oversee financial statement audits. You will be responsible for both technical accounting execution and team development, fostering a culture of continuous improvement. - Lead and manage the monthly accounting close process, including journal entries, reconciliations, variance analyses, and timely financial reporting in accordance with U.S. GAAP
- Drive process improvements, automation initiatives, and system implementations to enhance efficiency and accuracy within the accounting function
- Account for complex financial estimates, including share-based compensation, contingent commissions, and other GAAP-related items
- Manage external audits, ensuring compliance and timely completion of year-end financial statement processes
- Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff while establishing performance metrics and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and footnotes, providing actionable insights to management
- Support cross-functional teams with accounting-related operational needs and ad hoc projects
- B.A./B.S. in Accounting or Finance from an accredited institution
- 6+ years of relevant accounting experience, including 2–3 years at a Big 4 or large regional accounting firm
- Minimum of 2 years of people management experience
- Active CPA or currently pursuing certification is strongly preferred
- Strong proficiency in U.S. GAAP and technical accounting knowledge applied to real-world business transactions
- Proven ability to identify, implement, and optimize process improvements
- Highly organized, detail-oriented, and deadline-driven, with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams
- Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large data sets
- Competitive base salary: $110,000 – $135,000 USD
