Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled CNC Wire Cutting Machine Operator to join our growing production team. The CNC Wire Cutting Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating CNC Wire Cutting machining equipment to perform precision cuts on composite foam components. This role requires strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Key Responsibilities
• Set up, program, and operate CNC wire cutting machines to perform precision cuts on foam composite parts according to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Visually Inspect finished components
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical documents.
• Monitor machine performance, adjust parameters, and troubleshoot issues to maintain accuracy and efficiency.
• Perform routine machine maintenance, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs.
• Maintain accurate production records, including job travelers, inspection logs, and machine settings.
• Work closely with engineering and quality teams to resolve manufacturing challenges.
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
Qualifications Required
• Previous experience Setting up, operating and programming Computer Numerical Controlled machines (2–5 years preferred).
• Certification in CNC Machine Tool Technology is a strong plus but not required.
• Strong understanding of machining CNC controls, manufacturing processes, tolerances, and materials
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
• Proficiency with precise measurements.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with CNC programming interfaces.
• Strong problem solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred
• Experience in aerospace/aviation manufacturing or other high precision industries.
• Knowledge of ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality standards.
• Experience with CAD/CAM software.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs. as needed.
• Manual dexterity and good hand eye coordination.
