About This Position
Summary:
The FP&A Analyst supports the bank’s financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and performance management processes. This role partners closely with finance leadership and business stakeholders to deliver insightful financial analysis, support strategic decision-making and ensure strong financial discipline across the organization. The position requires advanced analytical, data management and an understanding of financial data rollups and financials with a primary focus on general ledger reporting database updates and maintenance, maintenance of quarterly budgeting data and forecasting files and preparation of board-level quarterly financial packages. This role requires expert-level Excel skills, including Power Pivot and advanced data modeling, to support executive and board reporting in a highly regulated environment.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities (Include but are not limited to):
- Prepare quarterly financial and budget packages, including schedules and supporting analysis.
- Develop and maintain advanced Excel models using Power Pivot, Power Query and DAX used for budget.
- Analyze large datasets from general ledger SQL tables and update budget reports.
- Meet quarterly with budget managers to determine quarterly budget estimates for noninterest expenses and income, and work with the SVP as well as the Chief Accounting Officer in estimating interest expense and income.
- Prepare executive and senior management reports with a high degree of accuracy.
- Automate and streamline recurring quarterly budget and reporting processes.
- Provide ad hoc data analysis and scenario modeling.
Qualifications (Education, Experience, Computer Skills, Certifications, Etc.):
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics Data Analytics or related field.
3–5+ years of experience in the banking or financial services sector.
Expert-level Excel skills required, including Power Pivot, Power Query, advanced formulas and PivotTables using Power Pivot, Power Query and DAX. - Banking experience highly desired, with an understanding of how balance sheet changes (funding, liquidity management, loan, securities and deposit movement) impact the income statement.
Experience preparing materials for senior leadership or board-level audiences. - Strong understanding of quarterly budgeting and financial reporting processes.
Experience working in regulated, audit-focused environments.
