Job Purpose / Summary
Responsible for generating new business, managing customer relationships, and guiding homeowners through the roofing sales process from initial contact to contract signing. Focuses on identifying customer needs, providing expert recommendations, and closing deals to drive revenue growth.
This is an entry- to mid-level sales role focused on mastering the company's consultative sales process and building a consistent pipeline of customers. In addition to sales responsibilities, the Project Consultant manages projects from inspection through completion, ensuring accuracy, quality, and compliance with company systems and service standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Generation and Prospecting
  • Generate leads through door-to-door canvassing, referrals, and digital outreach.
  • Follow up with potential and previous customers to maintain a strong pipeline.
  • Participate in marketing initiatives and community events to build awareness.
Customer Consultation and Relationship Management
  • Conduct detailed roof inspections and assess homeowner needs.
  • Educate customers on roofing systems, materials, warranties, and insurance claim processes.
  • Provide transparent, professional guidance that builds trust and confidence.
Sales Execution and Contracting
  • Prepare and deliver accurate estimates, proposals, and presentations.
  • Negotiate pricing and terms while maintaining target profitability.
  • Secure signed agreements and ensure proper documentation in CRM.
Project Management and Operational Coordination
  • Manage assigned projects from pre-construction through completion, including scheduling, material coordination, and customer communication.
  • Maintain complete and accurate project documentation using AccuLynx and Company Cam.
  • Conduct pre- and post-installation walkthroughs to ensure quality and customer satisfaction.
  • Verify project completion, assist with invoicing accuracy, and ensure final payment collection.
  • Communicate proactively to meet company SLAs for responsiveness and follow-up.
Technical Skills & Knowledge
  • Proficiency with AccuLynx and Company Cam for documentation and communication.
  • Ability to use roof measurement tools, mobile apps, and inspection equipment.
  • Working knowledge of roofing systems and materials.
  • Basic understanding of insurance claim and financing processes.
  • Proficiency with tablets, smartphones, and cloud-based communication tools.

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • 1–2 years of sales experience required; roofing or construction sales preferred.

Work Environment
  • Field-based role with daily customer engagement and travel between appointments.
  • Requires ability to climb ladders and access rooftops safely, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Regular driving and outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
