Job Description:

GDIT is looking for a Senior Instructional Developer to support the creation and delivery of impactful training and performance solutions tailored to support the deployment of Oracle Cerner Millenium electronic health records management (EHRM) solution across the Veterans Health Administration (VHA).

This role involves designing learner-centered training experiences that adhere to instructional design best practices focused on clinical EHRM workflows. This role requires self-motivation, adaptability to generate training materials for instructional delivery to VHA clinical and administrative staff that will be utilizing the new Millenium platform at VA Medical Centers.

Work Visa Sponsorship will not be considered for this position.

This role is primarily remote with up to 25% travel.

Responsibilities
  • Design and develop effective learning experiences and comprehensive curriculum aligned with Millenium clinical workflows.
  • Apply instructional design methodologies, adult learning theories, and curriculum planning frameworks to create impactful and modern training materials.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify instructional strategies and select appropriate delivery modalities and learning methodologies.
  • Create and manage course documentation, job aids, guides, and related training materials.
  • Conduct regular assessments to define measurable learning outcomes and performance-related impact metrics, ensuring program effectiveness.
  • Adjust curriculum based on feedback from VHA stakeholders, learners, and changes in organizational requirements.


Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree and 5+ years of experience with instructional course development in clinical environments
  • 3+ years of experience developing EHRM clinical training materials
  • Proven experience working in clinical or healthcare environments
  • Demonstrated ability to design training materials for an EHRM managed service solution
  • Travel requirements may amount to 25%, including training delivery, collaborative meetings, and workshops
  • Must be able to obtain a Position of Trust and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting

  • Current or previous hands-on experience working in VHA
  • Strong communication, collaboration, creativity, and problem-solving competencies


The likely salary range for this position is $85,000 - $115,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
