Africa Clinical Research Network (ACRN) is an African-led clinical research organization building the next generation of trial capacity across the continent. We work with existing hospitals, research units, and investigators to enable high-quality clinical research—from investigator-initiated studies to late-phase and registration trials—while strengthening local systems, skills, and infrastructure.

About the Opportunity

Are you a newly qualified nurse who has just completed your internship? Curious about research and looking for a unique career path beyond traditional nursing?

This is your chance to step into the world of clinical research. No prior research experience is needed. We are looking for passionate, motivated nurses ready to learn, grow, and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic research environment.

This is an entry-level clinical research support role, operating under supervision within a regulated ICH-GCP environment.

• Participant Care
• • Provide safe, respectful nursing care and monitor participant health during study visits.
• Study Support
• • Assist with scheduling, participant visits, and basic study coordination activities.
• Clinical Procedures
• • Support sample collection (e.g., blood, urine) and perform basic clinical assessments (vitals, observations).
• Safety Monitoring
• • Observe and report any side effects or changes in participant condition.
• Documentation
• • Accurately record participant information and enter study data (training provided).
• Protocol Adherence
• • Follow study guidelines and learn how clinical trials are conducted ethically and safely.
• Team Collaboration
• • Work with doctors, researchers, and lab teams in a supportive learning environment.

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
• Registered with the Nursing Council and licensed to practice
• Recently completed internship (or within 1 year post-internship)

• No prior research experience required
• Clinical exposure during training/internship is sufficient

• Adhere to ICH-GCP, study protocols, and ACRN SOPs
• Maintain accurate, complete, and timely documentation
• Escalate any protocol deviations, safety concerns, or errors immediately
• Participate in required training and certification

• Recently completed your nursing internship
• Registered nurse with a valid practicing license
• Curious about research and eager to learn
• No research experience? No problem, we’ll train you
