Job Overview
The Shift Supervisor in Hampden is responsible for driving the receiving duties on the warehouse floor each day. They report directly to the Manager, and work hand in hand to complete tasks throughout the day. They are not afraid of leading by example to set the pace for the rest of the team. Their example is what the rest of the team will look for guidance.
Primary Responsibilities
- Knowing what jobs have come in for sorting from the previous day
- Understanding differences in sorting process depending on what the job expects
- Correctly segregating the jobs as they come in to keep organized
- Ensuring any special instructions that the customer wants is met
- Seeing that every item which needs weighing and recording is attended to
- Setting the working pace for getting the jobs done quickly and efficiently
- Maintaining a complete understanding of what outbound loads we need to arrange for pickup
- Talking with the logistics coordinator about local loads for delivery
- Managing the supply needs of the warehouse
- Processing intercompany trailers efficiently including return supplies and equipment
- End-of-day reporting and data entry into appropriate systems/software
- Maintaining the compliance standards required in the warehouse for audit purposes
- Any other duties as assigned by direct manager
Desired Qualifications
- 2 years of supervisory or team lead experience, preferably in a related waste management field
- Current forklift certification or forklift experience
- Experience operating a bailer
- General computer knowledge – Email, working within multiple spreadsheets
- Ability to receive direction and execute the plan within the team
- Adaptability to changing goals, priorities, or initiatives
- Ability to walk/stand on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long periods of time
- Ability to communicate effectively
- Flexibility to work 4-6 Saturdays a year
Compensation
- Hourly position

- 22 PTO + 2 VTO + 9 paid holidays per year
