Job Description

Senior Sales Engineer

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Sales Engineer in United States.

This role sits at the intersection of technical solution design, enterprise sales, and product strategy within the fast-evolving clean energy and distributed energy resources (DER) space. You will work closely with utility clients to translate complex grid and energy challenges into scalable, technology-driven solutions that enable virtual power plants and support grid stability. Acting as a key technical advisor, you will partner with product, engineering, and go-to-market teams to align customer needs with platform capabilities. The environment is highly cross-functional and mission-driven, focused on accelerating the transition to a cleaner, more resilient energy system. This position blends technical depth with client-facing engagement, requiring both strategic thinking and hands-on solution architecture. You will also play a critical role in shaping how innovative energy technologies are positioned and delivered to enterprise utility customers.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will serve as a key technical and commercial bridge between customers, product teams, and internal stakeholders, ensuring that solutions are both technically sound and aligned with client business needs.

  • Act as a product and technical expert supporting the commercial team and utility customers across the sales and solution lifecycle.
  • Conduct in-depth discovery with clients to understand technical requirements, operational challenges, and business objectives.
  • Design and recommend scalable solutions leveraging distributed energy resources, including EV charging, smart thermostats, and battery systems.
  • Collaborate with product teams to align solution design with roadmap priorities and ROI-driven outcomes.
  • Support proposal development, solution positioning, and technical storytelling for enterprise clients and prospects.
  • Gather and synthesize customer feedback to inform product enhancements and strategic direction.
  • Partner with marketing and product teams to ensure clear, consistent messaging of platform capabilities.
  • Contribute to improving internal processes, including proposal, contracting, and delivery workflows using automation and modern tooling.
Requirements

This role requires a strong combination of technical understanding, customer-facing experience, and business acumen, ideally within enterprise software or energy-related industries.

  • 5–7 years of experience in technical sales engineering, product management, enterprise software, or related roles.
  • Experience in the energy sector, particularly distributed energy resources or demand-side management, is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of APIs, platform integrations, and data exchange concepts.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical enterprise stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills with high attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with SQL, Python, cloud BI tools, or AI-driven systems is a plus.
  • Experience working with enterprise tools for process management or solution delivery preferred.
  • Willingness to travel periodically (~10%) for client engagement and industry events.
  • Strong curiosity, adaptability, and motivation to work in a fast-changing, mission-driven environment.
Benefits
  • Base salary range: $110,000 – $140,000 depending on experience and location
  • On-target earnings up to $174,000 with uncapped variable compensation potential
  • 100% employer-paid medical insurance for employees, plus competitive family coverage
  • 401(k) with employer matching contributions
  • Flexible work environment with the ability to set your own schedule
  • Paid parental leave and strong family support benefits
  • Education assistance and professional development support
  • Wellness perks including gym subsidy, Citi Bike membership, and stocked office amenities (where applicable)
  • Opportunity to work on high-impact clean energy and grid modernization initiatives
  • Collaborative, mission-driven culture focused on innovation and climate impact
