THE ROLE
The Spa at Chetola Resort is seeking professional and experienced Estheticians (Part-time, W-2 employees) to join our team. In this role, you will provide exceptional skincare services—including facials, waxing, and other esthetic treatments—in a tranquil, luxury resort setting, ensuring each guest leaves feeling refreshed, confident, and cared for.
Due to strong and growing guest demand, the Spa is actively expanding its hours of operation—creating increased service volume and meaningful earning opportunities for our Estheticians. This role is scheduled based on peak demand, with services typically performed during late morning through early evening hours. Operating hours may vary by day, with services generally offered until 7:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays and until 6:00 PM Sunday through Thursday.
Weekend and holiday availability is required, as these are critical, high-demand periods for Spa operations and overall earning potential. Flexibility to support a variable schedule based on business levels is essential for success in this role.
As a member of the Chetola team, you will play a key role in delivering a Forbes-aligned guest experience while supporting the continued growth and success of the Spa.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Guest Experience & Service Delivery
- Provide consistent, professional facial, waxing, and skincare treatments in accordance with spa protocols and state licensing standards
- Perform services within the appropriate time allotted, ensuring prompt start and completion of each appointment
- Create a calm, welcoming, and personalized environment for each guest
- Assess guest skin care needs and recommend appropriate treatments, enhancements, and wellness solutions
- Demonstrate strong knowledge of skin physiology, facial massage techniques, and safe extraction practices
- Educate guests on skincare routines, wellness practices, and home care product usage
Guest Communication & Experience Enhancement
- Handle guest questions, concerns, and requests professionally, courteously, and promptly
- Provide accurate, appropriate, and timely responses to all guest needs to ensure complete satisfaction
- Actively promote spa services, treatments, and retail offerings, including home care programs
- Meet or exceed retail sales goals by recommending appropriate products and services
- Maintain complete knowledge of all spa services, products, promotions, and packages
Spa Operations & Treatment Room Standards
- Prepare treatment rooms prior to each service and properly clean, sanitize, and restock after each appointment
- Uphold all sanitation, sterilization, and safety standards in accordance with state law and spa policies
- Maintain proper care and usage of equipment and tools
- Use appropriate product amounts to support cost control and operational efficiency
Team Collaboration & Communication
- Communicate any guest concerns, service issues, or operational needs to Spa leadership in a timely manner
- Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to a supportive, team-oriented work environment
- Work independently while also collaborating effectively with team members
- Attend and actively participate in training sessions, team meetings, and ongoing education
- Support overall Spa operations and assist in other areas as requested by management

- Treatment room readiness: Proper lighting, calming music, comfortable temperature, and a fully prepared, clutter-free environment before each guest arrives.
- Treatment bed and setup presentation: Fresh, wrinkle-free linens, properly arranged tools, and a pristine, inviting setup that reflects luxury standards.
- Personal presentation: Professional, polished appearance with a calm, confident presence that immediately puts guests at ease.
- Technique and service precision: Consistent, high-quality facial techniques including cleansing, exfoliation, extractions, masking, and waxing performed with care, confidence, and attention to guest comfort.
- Skin analysis and customization: Thoughtful assessment of each guest’s skin type and concerns, with tailored treatments and product selections to meet their needs.
- Sanitation excellence: Meticulous cleaning and sanitation of treatment rooms, tools, and equipment in strict accordance with state law and spa protocols.
- Guest transitions: Warm, unhurried greetings and closings that create a seamless, elevated experience from arrival to departure.
- Product knowledge and application: Intentional, knowledgeable use of professional products to enhance results without excess or waste.
- Retail and home care recommendations: Confidently educating guests on skincare routines and recommending products that extend results beyond the treatment room.
- Awareness and anticipation: Noticing and adjusting small details—skin sensitivity, comfort, timing, or guest preferences—before they are voiced.

REQUIREMENTS
- Active North Carolina Esthetician License in good standing
- Minimum of 1 year of esthetics experience preferred; resort or luxury spa experience a plus
- Strong knowledge of skincare techniques including facials, extractions, and waxing services; willingness to train in Chetola’s specific treatment protocols and product lines
- Ability to analyze skin conditions and recommend appropriate treatments and home care solutions
- Required availability to work weekends and holidays, which are core, high-demand periods for Spa operations
- Ability to work a flexible, part-time, demand-based schedule aligned with Spa operating hours, which vary by day and may extend until 7:00 PM on Fridays and Saturdays and 6:00 PM Sunday through Thursday
- Ability to consistently work late morning through early evening shifts based on guest demand and booking volume
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn spa booking/POS systems
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive hand and arm movements
