POSITION: ASSISTANT DIRECTOR OF LIFESTYLE
FLSA STATUS: EXEMPT
JOB SUMMARY: The Assistant Director of Lifestyle is responsible for managing the Transportation Department and activity programming for the community campus of independent living. Assisting with Plaza calendars and activities. Position ensures programming efforts incorporate and achieve the wellness dimensions of sensory, social, emotional, spiritual, intellectual, and physical enrichment.

- Ensure resident satisfaction levels are achieved through quality and hospitality services and initiatives.
- Assist the design of life enrichment and engagement programs that are appropriate in optimizing resident participation based on resident interests and abilities.
- Coordinate and market community-wide resident functions including holiday and anniversary celebrations.
- Build social media base community wide. Strategize planning, networking, and community events.
- Approve and monitor staff’s schedule and time/PTO. Final approver for team member timecards.
- Directly responsible for hiring, scheduling, supervising, performance management and corrective action for Transportation. Assist with team member development and training.
- TouchTown, Iris, and Pandora training and maintenance on all equipment as needed and updates.
- Managing of scheduling of the Bottega, all reservations, BEO.
- Oversee/manage the resident picture/bio directory.
- Develop and maintain/update new resident binder for all new residents.
- Promote and lead selected resident activities.
- Comply with applicable federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations; maintains knowledge of and follows all company policies and procedures.
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance at work and meetings.

- Position may require some outside travel.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Four years of applicable experience.
Certifications required by state regulations. Industry certifications include NCCAP, CTRS, MEPAP I and MEPAP II.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Experience leading a team is preferred.
Possess a genuine appreciation of senior population.
Knowledgeable of wellness theories and practices.
Ability to plan, organize, develop, and implement events independently and in group involvement.
Knowledgeable of computer functions for computerized activity programs.
Ability to problem solve and adapt to changes.
Knowledgeable of individual or group behavior.
Adeptness to listen and understand information presented by residents, team members, and upper administration.
Ability to read, write and speak English sufficient to perform job duties and to interact and communicate with residents, vendors, and team members.
ENVIRONMENTAL AND PHYSICAL ACTIVITY REQUIREMENTS: The daily responsibilities of this position constantly require effective talking, hearing, sitting, walking, and standing functions. The position often involves light work, exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. Must be able to read print and computer- based materials and to do so with consistent accuracy. Most of these functions require light physical exertion and are conducted in a temperature-controlled environment with occasional exposure to hot and cold temperature. May be exposed to communicable diseases, blood borne pathogens, cleaning chemicals, dust, odors, and a variety of different pets.
INTELLECTUAL/EMOTIONAL REQUIREMENTS: The occupant of this position must be able to perform the responsibilities of the position well under pressure. The position requires adaptability to performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure. This position requires the ability to deal with and find resolution to problems and maintain a productive working relationship with team members and may be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of others. It also requires adaptability to fluctuate between priorities daily while being responsive to needs as they arise.
OSHA Category Classification:
Category III: Tasks that involve no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, and Category I tasks are not a condition of employment.
The normal work routine involves no exposure to blood, body fluids, or tissues, although situations can be imagined or hypothesized under which anyone, anywhere, might encounter potential exposure to body fluids.
