Position Overview
We are currently hiring a part-time Retail Associate for our Hanover, PA location. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys music, values learning, and takes pride in delivering an outstanding customer experience. You’ll play a key role in helping customers find the right instruments, accessories, and services while building lasting relationships both in-store and through phone and email communication.
Please note: This is a year-round position and not seasonal.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist customers with selecting and purchasing instruments, accessories, and sheet music
- Process band and orchestra rental agreements, helping make music accessible to students of all backgrounds
- Register students for lessons and provide information about The Menchey School of Music
- Develop knowledge of product lines, brands, and services offered
- Participate in training on instrument basics, sales techniques, and new products
- Address customer questions and concerns, seeking support when needed
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-stocked retail environment
- Follow opening and closing procedures
- Handle transactions accurately, including balancing a cash drawer
Compensation & Benefits
This position offers a competitive hourly wage along with a strong commission opportunity. Part-time employees are eligible for a generous employee discount and may qualify for 401(k) retirement plan. - Current high school student or high school diploma/GED
- Ability to play at least one musical instrument
- Basic knowledge of musical instruments and written music
