Our Location: Cutter & Buck is growing and opening a new fulfillment center in Grand Prairie, TX. The DFC will mirror our spectacular Seattle Fulfillment Center. Employees are the backbone of Cutter & Buck and we need a fabulous HR Generalist to join our small but mighty HR/Payroll team in opening and maintaining all employee relations at the DFC.

Job Vision:

The Manager of Embroidery Operations (Emb Ops Mgr) is charged to drive our overall performance of the Production Department (embroidery, heat applied decoration, and all other decoration types) and the Embroidery Finishing department (Quality, Finishing, Shipping) to ensure on time and high-end embellished delivery of products to all customers. The Emb Ops Mgr will manage the supervisory and administrative staff of Embroidery Production, including but not limited to Emb Administrators, Receivers, Embroidery Machine Maintenance department and Shift Supervisors and Embroidery Finishing. The Emb Ops Mgr provides leadership throughout the staff of Embroidery Production/Finishing and sets expectations for each shift. As a leader on the team, when Shift Supervisors are on vacation or are working alternative hours, the Emb Ops Mgr is expected to stand in as a Shift Supervisors. It is expected that all leaders in Embroidery Operations participate in backup, weekend and oversight of OT shifts with the rest of the Embroidery management staff.

Job Summary and Essential Functions:

  • Manage/align staffing levels to seasonal demands. Determine overtime and any reductions in worker hours and communicate with staff and Shift Supervisors. Provide support to Shift Supervisors in management of seasonal and full time staff.
  • Tracking department productivity metrics and improving production efficiency including optimizing the heads/equipment and staffing.
  • Improving and maintaining quality levels at set standards for extended periods.
  • Pursuing improvements to procedures in all processes and automation where possible.
  • Providing support to the Shift Supervisors on technical issues related to all decorating/finishing techniques.
  • Maintains the documentation of SOPs AND training materials for the Production and Finishing departments and works with the HR to assure all new employees have SOP information as a part of their training program.
  • Creates and executes the rollout of updated SOPs, processes and other documentation for employee education.
  • Works with HR to implement on-demand training and update full training programs implemented across department.
  • Oversee Maintenance of production/finishing equipment to assure the longest life and best operational efficiency.

Maintenance responsibilities include:

  • Bi-annual preventative maintenance process for all equipment.
  • Training oversight all Supervisors and Operators on daily and weekly maintenance.
  • Evaluating equipment viability and recommending plans for replacement.
  • Responsible for handling all task related to equipment delivery, setup, and training.

Educate Shift Supervisors and employees on the incentive pay program while maximizing quality and production. Directs development, implementation and process improvement projects which directly improve productivity, tracking, and quality metrics.

Advises on strategic planning for the Embroidery Operations departments. Quarterly staff planning and post mortem management.

Attends trade shows and shares information with the rest of the EOPS team on equipment, techniques, and new decorations as needed.

Other responsibilities as assigned by the Operations Manager of the DFC.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • The Emb Ops Mgr must be able to handle high levels of stress satisfactorily and be congenial with other employees and customers at all time. The employee must not pose a threat to the safety of others.
  • Can demonstrate knowledge of efficient production flow and production management concepts, e.g. Lean, Quality Assurance, and Theory of Constraints.
  • Attention to detailed specs demonstrated.
  • Either has experience in all aspects of embroidery production workers’ duties and responsibilities.
  • Ability to motivate supervisor and hourly staff & works well as a member of the Dallas Fulfillment Center Management Team which requires consistently good people skills. Creates a comfortable work environment with clear expectations about productivity and quality.
  • Ability to multi-task and establish priorities.
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office or similar programs: Outlook, Word, Excel.
  • Expert level knowledge of Tracker, BNet, SAP, WMS, Infor M3 and other software to complete Embroidery work.
  • Able to write professional business communication.

Education and Experience:

• High School Graduate; Bachelor’s or equivalent experience in production, embroidery preferred.

• 5 years of production lead/supervisory experience.

• Production embroidery and apparel decoration experience.

Supervision of large direct reporting staff in a production and/or finishing role.

Work Environment:

  • High energy, dynamic work environment where you have quick access to all areas of the organizations.
  • On-site daily to ensure maximum support for production and employees.
  • Constant walking, standing and working in warehouse setting is expected.
  • Regular weekend and out of schedule work hours are required, especially during peak season and other high volume times.
