This role is a high-impact opportunity for a seasoned engineer to work as a forward-deployed developer across multiple product teams and portfolio companies. You will contribute to both building new products from the ground up and modernizing legacy systems across regulated industries. You will operate across the full stack, working on backend services, APIs, databases, and frontend interfaces. The role blends hands-on engineering with technical leadership, including mentoring and architectural decision-making. Your work will directly influence scalable, production-grade systems used by enterprise and institutional customers.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable web applications using PHP 8 and MySQL, ensuring high performance, reliability, and security across production systems.
• Build and enhance backend services and RESTful APIs using the Yii2 framework, supporting both new product development and legacy modernization initiatives.
• Develop full-stack features by integrating backend systems with frontend interfaces using AngularJS and jQuery.
• Design efficient database architectures, optimize queries, and ensure system scalability for high-volume environments.
• Conduct code reviews, technical design reviews, and enforce engineering best practices across teams.
• Troubleshoot complex system issues, including performance bottlenecks, database inefficiencies, and application reliability challenges.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into scalable technical solutions and contribute to agile delivery processes.
• Apply AI-assisted development tools as part of the daily workflow, reviewing and refining AI-generated code to production standards.

• 8+ years of professional experience in PHP development with strong expertise in PHP 8 and modern backend practices.
• Strong hands-on experience with the Yii2 framework and solid understanding of MVC architecture and design patterns.
• Deep expertise in MySQL, including schema design, query optimization, indexing, and performance tuning at scale.
• Proven frontend experience with AngularJS and jQuery, including integration with backend APIs and services.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful API development, secure coding practices, and web application security principles.
• Solid foundation in object-oriented programming and software design patterns applied to production environments.
• Experience in technical leadership, mentoring engineers, or leading technical initiatives in collaborative teams.
• Hands-on experience using AI development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Codex, Claude Code, JetBrains AI) with the ability to guide, validate, and optimize AI-generated outputs.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote, fast-moving, and cross-functional environment.
