Job Description
Valicor is a growing, full-service environmental company with locations throughout the United States. Through state-of-the-art solutions, Valicor manages ~ 150 million tons of waste annually, and services a wide variety of customers.
The Project Manager will directly execute technical field service projects ensuring safety and customer satisfaction.
Basic Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepares routine proposals and executes on awarded projects.
- Visits customer sites as necessary to evaluate jobs, gather information, sample, etc..
- Assesses project needs in terms of equipment and labor, determines projected length of the project and costs, and ensures adherence to time frames and costs throughout the project.
- Initiates projects by scheduling resources, submitting required paperwork, and preparing written plans and compliance documents.
- Visits sites during projects to monitor progress, keep clients informed, and negotiates authorized changes in the original project plan, adjusting costs accordingly.
- Performs field activities and assists in the field, as necessary.
- Maintains client relations throughout the project, provides progress reports, and negotiates change orders.
- Supervises personnel involved in field operations, plans work to ensure safe conditions and instructs in methods and procedures.
- Participates in hiring, performance evaluation, disciplining, promotion, and termination decisions.
- Assists in the final invoice review and approval, along with other administrative tasks.
- Maintains a firm understanding on Hazardous Waste (RCRA) & DOT regulations
Basic Requirements and Qualifications
- Four-year college degree or equivalent; technical field major preferred.
- Two to five years of experience in the hazardous waste management industry.
- One year of lab pack experience preferred.
- Experience supervising employees preferred.
- Good knowledge and understanding of various federal, state, and local industry-related regulations.
- Understanding of waste packing protocols.
- Excellent interpersonal skills necessary to effectively communicate with internal and external contacts.
- Strong business writing skills.
- A class B CDL is preferred.
