POSITION DESCRIPTION
The District/Community Engagement Manager is responsible for leading district level operations across two convenience stores while building meaningful relationships with community partners, organizations, and stakeholders. Reporting directly to the CEO, this role functions as a strategic connector between the organization’s retail operations and its community engagement mission. The Manager ensures increased profitability, strong operational performance, high quality customer service, brand visibility, and the development of TREDCs community partnerships that support organizational goals and long-term growth.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, lead, and evaluate a comprehensive community outreach strategy that strengthens the organization’s relationship with local communities and increases store visibility.
- Represent the organization at community events, tribal and non‑tribal meetings, school functions, civic gatherings, and stakeholder forums.
- Build partnerships with nonprofits, tribal programs, government agencies, and local organizations to support shared initiatives.
- Plan and execute sponsorships, donations, cultural events, health/safety fairs, and promotional activities.
- Create and distribute community‑focused communication materials to promote events, partnerships, and initiatives.
- Oversee two C‑store locations, Eagle Feather Trading Post #1 and #2 to ensure consistent performance, operational compliance, and brand standards.
- Conduct regular store visits, walkthroughs, and audits covering safety, sanitation, age‑restricted sales compliance, merchandising, and customer service.
- Support Store Managers in executing promotions, planograms, and inventory strategies.
- Monitor store KPIs and develop action plans to improve performance in sales, labor, shrink, and customer satisfaction.
- Coordinate facility needs and vendor services to ensure a safe, clean, and efficient retail environment.
- Provide leadership, coaching, and professional development to Store Managers and key staff.
- Assist in hiring, training, and performance management.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and community‑focused team culture.
- Promote adherence to safety standards and emergency procedures.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, tribal, and local laws related to food handling, tobacco/alcohol sales, lottery, fuel operations, and workplace safety.
- Prepare reports for the CEO on community outreach outcomes, store performance, and operational trends.
- Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, sponsorship expenditures, and event metrics.
- All other duties as assigned.

- Bilingual skills are a plus.

- 4+ years in multi‑unit retail, convenience, grocery, or similar operations.
- Experience in community outreach, public relations, or partnership development highly preferred.

- Strong organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize, multitask, and meet deadlines.

- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Valid driver’s license (must be insurable under TREDC’s insurance).
- Ability to obtain food safety and age‑restricted sales certifications.
- Ability to obtain Class B Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) license.
- Ability to obtain L.E.A.D. certification from California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC).
- Ability to obtain an SSCS certification from vendor.
- Ability to learn and navigate the Gilbarco system.
- Ability to learn and navigate TOAST (Stoney Creek).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Position requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting and stooping in the performance of daily activities. The position also requires grasping, repetitive hand movement and fine coordination in preparing reports using a computer keyboard.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include reading, distance, computer and color vision. Acute hearing is required. Typically, office work setting conditions. Frequently must be able to lift up to 10 pounds, normally must be able to lift up to 20 pounds, and occasionally must be able to lift over 20 pounds.
This job requires the use of a vehicle, with frequent travel between stores and community locations. An employee must be able to have those repetitive motions and coordination associated with operating a motor vehicle.
This position reports to: Chief Executive Officer
Salary Range: $75k-85K Annual/ Salary/ Exempt/ Bi-weekly payroll
Hours: 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. / 40 hours per week
