Responsibilities

While RS&H was founded in 1941, we have been providing construction management services as one of our primary business practices since 1984. RS&H’s Transportation-Construction Management Practice serves numerous state departments of transportation, mobility/transportation authorities, turnpike/toll authorities, rail/port authorities, municipal/county governments, and private clients throughout the United States. Our Construction Engineering and Inspections (CEI) teams as well as our Construction Management teams are industry leading experts who provide a full range of construction engineering, program management, specialized testing, and inspection services from the preconstruction phase through maintenance and operations. Qualifications

RS&H is currently seeking an experienced Sr. Project Engineer II to join our Transportation Construction Management team in Dallas, TX.

This position is designed for a highly adaptable, relationship-driven professional who thrives in a fast-moving, municipal and transit market. While this role may visit project sites as needed, the Dallas-based Sr. Project Engineer II will primarily focus on client support, technical leadership, and market development rather than being assigned full-time to a single project.

As part of the construction management team, you’ll serve an integral role in the firm by acting as a trusted owner’s representative and technical partner to both clients and internal teams. This position will support project teams, build new client relationships, assist with business development efforts, and provide technical oversight across a variety of transportation and municipal projects.

What you will do:

As part of the RS&H team, you will:

  • Support client relationships and serve as a technical liaison for municipalities, agencies, and transit authorities
  • Assist with business development pursuits, client meetings, and proposal strategy
  • Provide technical guidance to inspection and project teams across the region
  • Review plans, specifications, schedules, RFIs, claims, change orders, and project documentation
  • Assist with constructability reviews, risk mitigation, and issue resolution
  • Mentor and support field and office staff
  • Participate in the development of new contract opportunities and pursuits
  • Help develop and refine policies, methods, practices, and procedures
Note: This role is not primarily assigned to a single active construction site and focuses on team support, client interface, and market growth.
To be successful in this role, you must:
  • Have a bachelor’s degree in engineering from an ABET accredited program and 10+ years of relevant experience
  • Be a Professional Engineer (PE) in good standing
  • Have experience in transportation, municipal, development, or transit-related construction
  • Be highly adaptable, resilient, and comfortable working across diverse project types
  • Possess strong oral and written communication skills
  • Have the ability to effectively interact with and build strong relationships with clients, customers, contractors, and internal teams
  • Have a valid driver’s license, be insurable, and be able to safely operate a vehicle on highways and job sites
