This senior leadership role sits at the intersection of cutting-edge neuroimaging research, clinical innovation, and medical device product development. You will drive the strategy and execution of Neuro MRI research collaborations with leading academic and clinical partners while ensuring translation of scientific breakthroughs into commercially viable imaging technologies. The role combines deep technical expertise in MR physics with strong leadership and cross-functional coordination across global R&D teams. You will oversee the development of advanced imaging techniques, from pulse sequence design to image reconstruction, and guide their integration into production systems. In addition, you will contribute to product strategy, customer engagement, and knowledge dissemination through scientific and industry channels. This is a high-impact position influencing the future of neuroimaging and clinical decision-making on a global scale.

Accountabilities

In this role, you will be responsible for leading Neuro MR research strategy, collaborations, and product innovation across academic, clinical, and industrial environments.

  • Define and execute the national and international collaboration strategy for Neuro MR R&D initiatives
  • Lead partnerships with academic and clinical institutions to develop and validate innovative neuroimaging techniques
  • Oversee the full research-to-product lifecycle, including pulse sequence development, image reconstruction, and prototype release
  • Ensure alignment of research projects with global MR roadmap and product development priorities
  • Supervise integration of new imaging technologies into medical device products under strict quality and regulatory standards
  • Support product improvement initiatives, software maintenance, testing, and bug resolution for existing solutions
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to translate technical advancements into clinical and commercial value
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of MR scientists, fostering innovation, accountability, and technical excellence
Requirements

The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in MRI science, strong leadership capabilities, and proven experience in collaborative research and product development environments.

  • PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Biomedical Physics, Imaging Physics, or a related field
  • At least 6 years of clinical and research experience in MRI, preferably on Siemens MRI platforms
  • Strong background in MR physics, including pulse sequence design and image reconstruction techniques
  • Proven experience in academic, clinical, or industry collaborations in medical imaging research
  • Solid understanding of medical device product development cycles and regulatory requirements
  • Experience with C++/C software development and MRI software tools (e.g., ClearCase, TFS, or equivalent)
  • Strong leadership skills with experience building, mentoring, and managing technical teams
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder management abilities
  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, global, and cross-functional environment with multiple priorities
  • Willingness to travel nationally and internationally (~40%)
