Job Description

Description:

Anani Restaurant Group

Located on Detroit’s East Side, Saffron De Twah is Anani Restaurant Group’s nationally recognized Moroccan bistro, known for blending traditional North African flavors with the spirit and creativity of Detroit. Before there was brick-and-mortar, there was the road. The Twisted Mitten is Michigan’s first 100% Halal food truck and was named the #1 Food Truck in Michigan by the Food Network.

The Twisted Mitten brings our “farm-to-street” philosophy on the move, serving groups of all sizes from large festivals to small neighborhood pop-ups. We’re committed to twisting expectations through bold flavors, genuine hospitality, and an unforgettable guest experience.

Position Summary

On the food truck, every second counts and every guest matters. As a Food Truck Crew Member, you’ll play a key role in both service window and kitchen operations. Whether you’re taking orders, preparing food, or helping manage a busy event crowd, you are an important part of creating a fast, friendly, and memorable guest experience.

This role requires a proactive mindset, strong teamwork, and the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced mobile environment. From neighborhood block parties to large-scale festivals, you’ll help keep service running smoothly while maintaining a positive, energetic atmosphere.

We offer flexible scheduling, giving you the opportunity to pick up shifts that fit your availability and lifestyle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome every guest with energy and enthusiasm while helping create a fun, upbeat atmosphere around the truck.
  • Accurately take and enter guest orders into the digital POS system while managing ticket flow with speed and attention to detail.
  • Prepare, cook, and assemble menu items according to company recipes, quality standards, and food safety guidelines.
  • Communicate clearly between the cashier and kitchen stations to ensure accurate orders, efficient ticket times, and excellent guest service.
  • Guide guests through the menu, answer questions, and confidently recommend food items and signature non-alcoholic beverages.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of both front-of-house and kitchen areas, including food prep stations, counters, equipment, and service areas.
  • Assist with food truck setup and breakdown, including stocking inventory, preparing ingredients, load-in/load-out, and event preparation.
  • Monitor food quality, portioning, and presentation to ensure consistency during all service periods.
  • Adapt quickly in a fast-paced mobile environment while handling high-volume crowds, changing weather conditions, and operational challenges with a positive attitude.
  • Support both cashier and cooking responsibilities as needed to maintain smooth and efficient operations.
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation, cleanliness, and health guidelines to maintain a safe and organized work environment at all times.
Requirements:

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a fast-paced restaurant, hospitality, retail, or kitchen environment preferred but not required.
  • Ability to multitask, stay organized, and remain composed during high-volume service periods.
  • Comfortable working both customer-facing and kitchen responsibilities as needed.
  • Confidence in guiding guests, making recommendations, and delivering excellent customer service.
  • Reliable, punctual, and professional in appearance and demeanor.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills with a positive, team-first attitude.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and work in varying outdoor conditions.

Variable Shifts & Work Environment

  • Flexible scheduling based on our event calendar, with opportunities to pick up shifts that fit your availability and preferred working hours.
  • Shifts may include evenings, weekends, festivals or private events.
  • Fast-paced, high-energy outdoor work environment where no two events are the same.
  • Work closely with a small, team-oriented crew in a compact mobile kitchen and service space.
  • Must be comfortable working in varying weather conditions and adapting quickly during busy events.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods throughout events and service shifts.
  • Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. and safely navigate the layout and steps of a mobile kitchen/food truck environment.
  • Comfortable working around and operating kitchen equipment, including hot cooking surfaces, grills, and stovetops, while following proper safety procedures at all times.

This is a seasonal position supporting our food truck operations and event schedule throughout peak service periods.
