RN ST: RN Staff at Willis-Knighton Health System – Shreveport, Louisiana

The NICU at WKS is a 50-bed Level III NICU. Our state-of-the-art facility offers private rooms, twin rooms, and isolation rooms. Our patient population includes neonates with respiratory, cardiac, neurologic, gastrointestinal, metabolic, and congenital disease processes. Staff nurses are responsible for assessing these neonates and providing a comprehensive nursing care plan. With the aid of respiratory therapists, neonatologists, nutritionists, and speech pathologists, you will continually assess and monitor the neonates in your assignment. Backup call may be assigned on a shift-to-shift basis according to availability of staff. As a per diem staff nurse, you will be asked to work other shifts as necessary. All per diem staff must have 1 year experience in NICU as a requirement for employment. Orientation is available and is individualized to your experience. NRP is required of all NICU staff. The STABLE program is also recommended. These programs are available through our Career Institute.
