Position Summary:
The Experienced Industrial Painter- Crane Systems will use paint application techniques and equipment to professionally finish manufactured surfaces. The Crane Painter will play a critical role in ensuring that cranes are properly prepared, primed, and painted to meet quality standards, customer requirements, and industry regulations.
Job Responsibilities
- Measures area to be painted and determines the quantity and type of paint required for the project.
- Identifies and orders appropriate paint colors and finishes, mixing as needed.
- Prepares surfaces for painting, including removing prior finishes using chemicals, grit blasting, or other approved methods.
- Masks, removes, covers, or otherwise protects furniture, hardware, trim, and other non-painted surfaces.
- Applies paint to interior and exterior surfaces using brushes, rollers, sprayers, airbrushes, stencils, and other tools.
- Performs basic stencil and line work, including painting lines on factory floors, cranes, and other industrial surfaces.
- Applies specialty finishes and glazes as required.
- Complies with all chemical handling, storage, and waste disposal regulations and best practices.
- Builds scaffolding according to safety regulations.
- Maintains a clean and organized work area.
- Prepares invoices and other paperwork detailing materials, labor time, and costs.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Strong work pace aligned with production standards
- Consistent quality and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and stay productive during downtime (cleaning, organizing, prep work)
- Team-oriented mindset and strong reliability
- Experience with water-based paint systems in a production or industrial setting (preferred)
Work Environment
- Prolonged periods of standing and painting.
- Must have adequate balance and ability to climb ladders and scaffolding.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
- Must be able to distinguish among colors.
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training in welding and fabrication is preferred.

Work Schedule:
Standard hours apply, but this role requires flexibility. Expect increased hours and occasional weekend work during peak workload periods.
