About the role

We are looking for an experienced and proactive Contractor Compliance Manager to join our HSEQ team in Auckland. This role is responsible for leading and integrating contractor compliance strategies across the business, ensuring excellence in contractor management, safety, quality, and sustainability performance. The role also supports the delivery of key strategic projects within the Group HSEQ Improvement Plan and provides operational contractor management support to business units as required.

Key responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Lead contractor compliance and prequalification processes across the Group, including standardising systems, onboarding, and contractor records management.
  • Ensure contractors comply with company policies, regulatory obligations, and health and safety standards through desktop reviews, site inspections, audits, and incident investigations.
  • Develop and implement minimum contractor induction processes across all business units.
  • Support contractor selection and vetting, ensuring contractors meet required safety and qualification standards.
  • Work alongside the Sustainability Manager to align contractor activities with Group sustainability goals and action plans.
  • Develop tools, resources, and training materials to help contractors improve sustainability outcomes such as waste reduction, energy use, and carbon footprint.
  • Monitor, analyse, and report on contractor HSEQ and sustainability performance, identifying trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of HSEQ systems, processes, KPIs, and business performance across the Group.
  • Assist with strategic HSEQ initiatives, ISO internal audits, accreditation support, and delivery of the Group HSEQ Improvement Plan.

About you

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience managing contractor prequalification systems in a complex environment.
  • A qualification in Health and Safety, such as a certification, diploma, or degree.
  • Lead Auditor qualifications in ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001.
  • Strong knowledge of contractor management, compliance, auditing, and incident investigation.
  • The ability to build effective working relationships with contractors, operational leaders, and stakeholders across the business.
  • Strong analytical and reporting capability, with experience tracking KPIs and performance metrics.
  • Excellent planning, organisation, and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Experience in the electrical industry, construction, or facilities management would be highly advantageous.
