DIXIE METAL PRODUCTS–Business Development Manager, Utilities Division

Dixie Metal Products (“Dixie”) is seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to lead and grow its Electrical Utilities business across the eastern U.S. This is a high-impact sales and business development role focused on deepening long-standing relationships with major investor-owned utilities, co-ops, EPC firms, and utility contractors while expanding into new accounts and applications. You will help drive profitable growth across substation, transmission, and distribution of product lines by combining strong relationship management with technical credibility, project discipline, and commercial drive.

WHAT THE ROLE DOES:

  • Develop and execute territory and account plans to grow revenue with existing utility customers while winning new business across the region.
  • Strengthen relationships with investor-owned utilities, co-ops, EPC firms, and utility contractors through trust-based engagement, industry knowledge, and dependable follow-through.
  • Serve as the lead commercial contact for engineered substation, transmission, and distribution of fabricated products.
  • Manage the full opportunity pipeline from lead identification and specification development through quoting, award, submittals, and delivery.
  • Increase project visibility, bid activity, and conversion rates by identifying opportunities early and staying engaged throughout the sales cycle.
  • Conduct customer visits, site visits, and field meetings to better understand applications, project requirements, and service expectations.
  • Partner closely with estimating, drafting, engineering, and production to ensure quotes are accurate; customer expectations are clear, and projects are executed well.
  • Contribute to broader business development efforts, including product collateral, trade events and targeted market outreach.

THE BACKGROUND THAT FITS:

  • 5+ years of sales or business development experience in electrical utilities, substation structures, transmission and distribution products, or engineered metal fabrication.
  • Demonstrated success in growing territories and managing complex relationship-based accounts over multi-year sales cycles.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and specifications and collaborate effectively with internal teams on quotations, scope of review and submittals.
  • Working knowledge of fabrication workflows, project execution, field installation, or utility construction processes is a strong plus.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to stay on top of multiple active opportunities.
  • Self-driven, commercially minded, and able to balance account management with disciplined new business development.
  • Based in Ocala, FL with flexibility for on-site or remote work depending on business needs.
  • Travel requirement: approximately 25-40% across the Eastern U.S. depending on customer and project activity.
