About the Role

We are developing a next-generation embedded telematics gateway that integrates vehicle data, video, audio, and edge-based AI to enable advanced fleet safety and intelligence. The platform combines GPS, accelerometers, LTE connectivity, OBD-II vehicle interfaces, cameras, and AI acceleration to generate real-time, on-device safety and event insights.

We are looking for a Senior Embedded Software Engineer with strong Linux and C++ expertise to lead development of the gateway application layer. This role is ideal for a highly capable, hands-on engineer who enjoys working close to hardware, owns complex embedded systems end-to-end, and contributes to innovative edge AI safety features.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain the embedded gateway application running on Linux-based platforms.

  • Implement reliable data collection pipelines from multiple on-device sources, including: Video cameras, Audio components, GPS and geolocation, Accelerometers and motion sensors, Vehicle data via CAN interfaces including OBD-II.

  • Develop secure, efficient mechanisms for transmitting collected data and events to the fleet management cloud.

  • Integrate and optimize system components involving LTE modems, sensors, and peripheral devices.

  • Contribute to advanced safety and event-generation features using edge-based AI processing.

  • Innovation: Participate in advanced safety and event-generation features, leveraging edge AI to improve driver and vehicle safety.

  • Ensure high standards of code quality, testing, reliability, and security.

  • Collaborate closely with product, QA, and operations teams while maintaining strong individual ownership.

  • Take responsibility for full task ownership, including development, testing, deployment, and production readiness.

Required Qualifications

  • Linux development experience: At least 5 years of experience developing applications and services in Linux-based environments.

  • C++ expertise: Minimum of 5 years of experience developing C++ applications in a Linux environment.

  • Cross-platform development: Proven experience in cross-platform development.

  • Solid understanding of system-level programming, performance optimization, and resource-constrained environments.

  • Ability to work independently and own complex technical problems end-to-end.

Preferred Experience

  • Telematics systems: Hands-on experience with telemetry data collection, vehicle OBD-II interfaces, accelerometers, video processing, and telematics devices.

  • Edge AI: Experience deploying and running AI models on edge devices.

  • Embedded systems: Hands-on experience with embedded platforms and architectures such as Raspberry Pi, Ambarella, Rockchip, and similar systems.
