We are currently looking for a Lead Software Engineer (Java) in North America.As a Lead Software Engineer, you will provide technical leadership across multiple full-stack projects, guiding architecture, design, and implementation from concept to production. You will operate at the intersection of client engagement and engineering execution, ensuring that systems are scalable, maintainable, and aligned with business goals. This role offers the opportunity to influence standards, mentor cross-functional teams, and drive complex projects in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. You will work with modern technologies spanning Java backend, web frontend, mobile, and cloud infrastructure. Youll set the bar for engineering excellence, delivering high-quality code while shaping the technical strategy for the organization. The position requires a US-based candidate with the ability to pass a Federal Personnel Security clearance.Accountabilities:

• Serve as the principal technical architect for multiple client engagements, ensuring alignment with business objectives and measurable outcomes.
• Lead design and implementation across frontend, backend, and cloud platforms, including AWS and Azure, to ensure performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Write high-quality, production-ready code and establish best practices for CI/CD, testing, and deployment.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams, including hardware, data science, and design, to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Identify and mitigate technical risks proactively and provide guidance during complex problem-solving scenarios.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership through code reviews, design discussions, and project delivery.
• Support pre-sales efforts by providing technical input, scoping, and estimating Statements of Work.

Requirements:

• BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field; 10+ years of professional software development experience.
• 4+ years developing Java-based backend applications and 3+ years in a technical leadership role overseeing cross-functional engineering teams.
• Proven success delivering full-stack systems from concept to production, with experience maintaining public-facing production systems at scale.
• Deep expertise in Java backend frameworks (Dropwizard, Spring Boot), frontend frameworks (React, Expo, TypeScript), and cloud services (AWS Lambda, ECS, Fargate, RDS, CloudFront, CloudWatch, SNS, SQS).
• Skilled in relational and non-relational database design, event-driven architectures, CI/CD pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Pulumi).
• Strong client-facing and executive communication skills, with experience in professional services or consulting preferred.
• Must be US-based, a US Citizen, and able to pass a Federal Personnel Security clearance.
