Senior Staff/Graduate Geotechnical Engineer at Ninyo & Moore – Austin, Texas

Ninyo & Moore Geotechnical & Environmental Sciences Consultants is seeking a Senior Staff/Graduate Geotechnical Engineer to join our team in Austin, Texas. The ideal candidate will support geotechnical investigations, analysis, and reporting for a range of infrastructure and development projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct geotechnical field investigations and engineering analyses
• Develop boring layouts and coordinate utility clearance
• Supervise drill rigs and field staff
• Classify soils; log borings, test pits, and cores
• Perform floor level surveys and geotechnical testing/observation services
• Review project plans and technical specifications
• Prepare geotechnical reports, letters, and technical documentation
• Coordinate laboratory testing programs
• Perform geotechnical engineering calculations, including:
  • Slope stability analysis
  • Liquefaction assessment
  • Dynamic settlement analysis
  • Pile foundation design

Qualifications

• B.S./B.A. in Civil, Geotechnical, or Geological Engineering required
• M.S. in related field preferred
• Minimum 2+ years geotechnical engineering experience (consulting preferred)
• Strong understanding of soil mechanics and geotechnical engineering principles
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong organization, problem-solving, and time-management abilities
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment

Licensure

• EIT and ability to obtain PE License within 6 months required
