About the Role
As an Associate Installer at James Blinds, you'll work with an experienced installer to open boxes, move supplies and learn the basics of easy and medium-difficulty commercial blind installation projects. You’ll be a key player in building our reputation at this growing location, supported by structured training and hands-on mentorship. High growth level position. Responsibilities
- Oversees and mentors apprentices or junior installers when assigned..
- Communicates effectively with team members, supervisors, and clients to ensure job success.
- Minimizes installation errors, rework, and safety incidents.
- Collaborates effectively with colleagues, apprentices, and supervisors.
- Gains proficiency in installation techniques, safety procedures, and industry terminology.
- Accurately completes job site reports detailing work completed, challenges faced, and solutions implemented, when installing independently.
- Lead the installation efforts of small - medium sized projects
- Achieves and exceeds assigned installation targets while maintaining quality standards in but not limited to measuring, cutting, and shortening blinds to ensure proper fit and installation.
- Reads and interprets blueprints and manufacturer specifications.
- Adheres to industry best practices, product handling guidelines, and company procedures.
- Participates in structured training to master tools, materials, and installation techniques.
- Learns and demonstrates teamwork and relationship-building skills with supervisors and colleagues.
- Follows OSHA guidelines and company safety protocols, including the use of ladders, scaffolding, and cutting tools.
- Maintains job site professionalism and adheres to installation and safety standards.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:
- Ability to operate construction tools and equipment including but not limited to manual tools, machine/power tools, and pneumatic tools.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Basic knowledge of safety procedures and environmental regulations related to blind installation work.
- Exposure to construction environments, requiring adherence to safety protocols.
- A current and valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record is required.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required.
- Minimum 12 months of experience in blind installation or a strongly related field preferred.
- Previous experience leading a team on medium-difficulty projects preferred.
- Experience in construction, carpentry, or general labor is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and perform physical tasks such as bending, kneeling, and standing for extended periods.
- Some evening or weekend work may be required depending on property needs or emergency situations.
- Regular use of ladders and scaffolding at varying heights.
- Ability to travel to surrounding areas or states as needed.
