This position is 100% on site at our 1040 University Avenue, Rochester, NY 14607 location.

Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Network & Systems Administrator to join our growing IT team. This hybrid infrastructure role is critical to maintaining and improving our network and server environments while ensuring reliable, secure connectivity across the organization.
The ideal candidate brings strong hands-on experience with networking equipment and is also comfortable supporting core infrastructure systems, including virtualization, servers, and Microsoft technologies. This role is best suited for someone who enjoys a mix of operational support, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement.
Strong communication skills, sound technical judgment, and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Design, implement, and manage network infrastructure equipment, including firewalls, switches, and routers.
- Monitor network performance, availability, and security; proactively identify and resolve risks before they impact operations.
- Maintain accurate documentation for network configurations, procedures, and policies.
- Partner with the IT team to develop and improve infrastructure standards, IT policies, and operational procedures.
- Administer and maintain server infrastructure, including routine maintenance, patching, upgrades, and performance monitoring.
- Administer Microsoft Azure virtualization environments to support business operations and security requirements.
- Help to provide IT support for end-users, including troubleshooting and resolving network, hardware, and software issues.

Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree (B.S.) from four-year college or university in Computer Science, MIS, Information Technology, or in another related discipline if applicant has sufficient IT experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of five (5) years industry experience.
Required Skills
To perform this job successfully, an individual must have:
- Extensive experience managing enterprise network infrastructure, including switching, routing, wireless, and perimeter security.
- Strong knowledge of networking protocols, firewall administration, and network security best practices.
- Demonstrated understanding of core IT concepts, including identity and access management, security, compliance, networking, databases, and APIs.
- Demonstrated critical thinking and advanced troubleshooting skills in complex technical environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong project management, organization, and time management skills.
Other Desired Engineering Skills and Abilities
The following skills, although not required, will be considered a plus when evaluating a candidate:
- Relevant infrastructure, networking, or security certifications are a plus.
- Experience with CMMC 2.0 and NIST 800-171/DFARS controls is a plus
Travel, domestically and internationally may occasionally be required (<5%) in order to perform the essential functions of this position.
The specific salary offered will be dependent on the education and experience of the applicant as compared with current internal employees with similar education and experience to maintain our internal equity.
