Responsibilities
- Performs inspections, planned maintenance, and minor repairs on medical equipment as assigned by Biomedical Equipment Technician Lead.
- Performs duties in accordance with current policies and procedures.
- Uses tools appropriately and maintains tools and work area in clean and usable condition.
- Completes work orders with complete information in an accurate and timely manner.
- Updates equipment records as identified during completion of work orders.
- Communicates and/or initiates orders for materials needed for completion of work orders. Researches and provides vendor part numbers for needed items.
- Obtains and processes packing slip/service receipt for all purchased items or services.
- Coordinates activities with customers, supervisors, and co-workers using effective communication and inter-personal skills
- Maintains an individual educational profile, which documents that educational requirements are met.
- Participates in educational programs, in-services, and department meetings.
- Takes initiative to advance and apply knowledge of medical equipment operation, testing, maintenance and repair.
- Assists in training equipment users in safe use of medical equipment.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
- Associate’s degree or equivalent in biomedical or electronics technology from college or technical school.
*OR*
- Equivalent training and experience required.
Skills:
- Effective English communication skills (both verbally and in writing).
- Keyboard skills and ability to navigate electronic systems applicable to job functions.
- Knowledge of electronic equipment.
