Gate Monitor I (Nights) in Decatur, Alabama at Wolverine Industries

• Guard entrance gate of plant and grounds.
• Control traffic to and from the property.
• Control gate to allow entrance or exit of employees, truckers and authorized visitors.
• Check credentials or approved roster before admittance to facility is allowed.
• Issue passes at own discretion or on instructions from management.
• Issue proper PPE necessary (if required in the area being visited).
• Direct visitors and truckers to various parts of grounds or buildings.
• Inspect outgoing traffic to prevent unauthorized removal of company property or products.
• Answer telephone and transfer calls as appropriate.
• Take messages from employees calling in and relaying information to supervisors and Human Resources.
• Other duties as assigned

• High School Diploma/GED
• Highly organized and detail oriented.
• Ability to use computer system and record keeping.
• Ability to work independently.
• Manufacturing experience working in industrial production is strongly preferred.
• Capable of reading and understanding production documents and safety manuals.
• Basic math, reading, and writing skills.
• Good communication skills
• Willingness to always comply with all safety guidelines.
• Positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team.
• Attend all safety and production trainings.

Essential Physical Functions:

• Ability to work on the production floor with exposure to dust, fumes, odors, loud noise, and varying temperatures.
• Ability to perform physical tasks that are repetitive.
• Ability to do work requiring standing with frequent stooping, bending, reaching overhead and sufficient manual dexterity to perform all aspects of the job.
• Ability to lift, move parts and equipment up to 100 pounds in a team lift.
• Able to work 12 hour shifts primarily standing.
