About the Role & Team

Join our Internal Audit team as a Co-op and gain hands-on experience at the intersection of risk, controls, and emerging technology. In this role, you’ll partner with experienced auditors to evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls across the enterprise while also contributing to a strategic initiative to build out artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities within the audit function. You’ll help shape how the department leverages AI to enhance audit testing, risk assessment, and continuous monitoring — gaining exposure to both traditional internal audit methodology and the cutting-edge tools redefining the profession. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated student to build a foundation in audit, risk, and compliance while developing practical skills in AI-enabled process automation and analytics.

What You’ll Do

• Assist in planning and executing internal controls testing across financial reporting, operational, and information technology (IT) processes, including SOX-related controls.
• Perform walkthroughs with process owners, document business processes, and identify control gaps, deficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
• Support the design, development, and rollout of artificial intelligence (AI) tools and process infrastructure within the Internal Audit department, including use cases for automated controls testing, anomaly detection, and continuous auditing.
• Help build and document AI governance practices for the audit function, including prompt libraries, model evaluation criteria, output review procedures, and risk considerations for responsible AI use.
• Conduct data analysis using tools such as Microsoft Excel, Power BI, Alteryx, or Python to support audit testing, sampling, and population analytics.
• Prepare clear, well-organized audit workpapers and contribute to draft observations, recommendations, and report content for review by senior auditors.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders — including Finance, Information Technology (IT), and business process owners — to support audit fieldwork and follow-up on remediation activities.
