Job Title: Registered Nurse - Preoperative Care

This position is PRN.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Preoperative Care team. The ideal candidate will provide high-quality nursing care to patients undergoing surgical procedures, ensuring their safety and comfort before surgery. This role requires strong clinical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a commitment to patient-centered care.

Key Responsibilities:

- Conduct preoperative assessments and evaluations of patients.

- Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the surgical team.

- Educate patients and their families about the surgical process, preoperative instructions, and postoperative care.

- Monitor patients' vital signs and overall health status prior to surgery.

- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician.

- Assist in preparing patients for surgery, including the management of preoperative documentation.

- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.

- Adhere to infection control protocols and safety standards.

Requirements:

- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.

- Previous experience in preoperative or surgical nursing is an advantage.

- Strong assessment and critical thinking skills.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

- Knowledge of surgical procedures and protocols.

- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required.

- Requires regular and predictable attendance.
