Activity Coordinator - Post Acute in Gallipolis, Ohio at Holzer Health System

Position Summary: Plans and coordinates programs and activities for the community that are varied, reflect the interest, values, beliefs of the resident and provide life-enriching opportunities for residents and the community. The responsibility is for all areas of the facility and for all the resident service levels. Supervise the Activities Department staff if this is applicable for the community. Reports directly to the Executive Director/Administrator.

Education, Work Experience and Licensure:

• High School Graduate or equivalent required.
• Two years work experience in activities program required.
• Prefer training as a nursing assistant, resident assistant; state tested or certified.
• Associate or baccalaureate degree in recreational therapy or similar discipline preferred. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
• Certified by a state approved activities course or in the process of obtaining certification.
• Experience in planning and conducting activities with a senior population.
• Prior supervisory experience (if supervising a department staff).
