Cashier at Sugarfire Smokehouse – Jacksonville, Florida

Job Summary: Ensures an accurate accounting of all transactions, collections, and disbursements. Receives cash drawer at beginning of work shift and counts money in drawer at beginning and ending of shift to verify its accuracy. Rings food and beverage checks into register. Collects cash, check, or credit payment from guests, makes change for cash transactions, and prepares voucher for credit card purchases.

Responsibilities:

• Greets guests as they enter and exit the dining area.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of cashier area.
• Has a working knowledge of menu and menu items.
• Handles cash and credit to include financial transactions.
• Has a working knowledge of POS (Point of Sale) system.
• Maintains the cleanliness of the restaurant.
• Maintains a balanced cash drawer throughout a shift.
• Provides exceptional guest service to each and every guest.
• Rings up orders in an efficient and expeditious manner.
• Ensures trays are cleaned appropriately at the tray station.
• Wipes down tray area and takes soiled trays to the dish area.
• Checks restrooms.
• Transacts sales.
• Up-sells/recommends items to guests.
• Thanks guests with a smile.
• Keeps calm in pressure situations.
• Maintains professionalism.
• Adheres to company standards, including personal hygiene and appearance.
• Adheres to health department codes regarding food sanitation and handling.
• Performs other duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications:

• Must be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time.
• Must able to reach, bend, stoop, and frequently lift up to 30 pounds.
