B22 Staff Accountant at Block 22 L L C – Boise, Idaho

Block 22, LLC. was formed in Boise, Idaho in 1997. Originally comprised of The Grove Hotel and Idaho Central Arena (formerly CenturyLink Arena), Block 22 expanded to include Hotel 43 in Boise, as well as Courtyard by Marriott Boise Downtown in late December 2016.

Today, Block 22 manages 525 hotel guest rooms at three hotels and is among the top hospitality lodging organizations in the city. The hotels offer a combined 17,000 square feet of meeting & convention space hosting hundreds of events each ranging, each ranging from private boardroom functions, weddings & receptions, and large social galas.

The Staff Accountant is responsible for the accounting of various different corporate entities in the general ledger accounting system. This position reports to the CFO/Controller, and works closely with Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, other Staff accountants, and Human Resources. This person must be diligent and self-motivated, with attention to detail. Training is provided regarding duties and software systems. Job Responsibilities:

• Maintain and reconcile all balance sheet accounts, including bank accounts, in the accrual-based accounting system using Dynamiics 365 Business Central, the company's general ledger accounting software package
• Work closely with the accounting group to identify, track and record inter-company transactions and allocations
• Actively participate in and coordinate annual budgeting and produce a final report for the CFO/Controller.
• Prepare month-end financial statements including balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement, and budgets in accordance with GAAP and in compliance with internal policies, using Jet Reports and Business
• Central Prepare semi-monthly, monthly, quarterly and annual tax filings including payroll withholding taxes, property taxes, and sales tax
• Calculate and process semi-monthly payroll for various entities using Paylocity.
• -Working with Human Resources, help reconcile annual W-2/W-3
• Record new capital assets and maintain depreciation journals
• Analyze transaction data for specific account codes for the purpose of identifying potential budget variances, compiling statistical information, developing procedures, and conforming to established financial practices and regulatory requirements.
• Calculate and post the monthly Cost of Goods Sold
• Calculate and post monthly and quarterly Idaho Sales & Use Tax
• Month-end and year-end closings
• Maintain prepaid and accrual schedules, recognizing income and expense when appropriate
• Assist with annual external audits
• Participate in meetings, in-service training, workshops, etc. for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required fo perform job functions.

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
• Strong technical accounting background
• Proficient with Excel spreadsheets and ERP accounting systems
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong organizational skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact effectively, with all levels throughout the organization
• Team player with the ability to work independently
• Knowledge of the Hospitality Industry is helpful, but not required
