Avera is currently seeking a highly motivated Director of Facility Services with leadership experience.

Job Summary

The Director of Facility Services is accountable assigned departments which may include Facility Services, Security, Plant Operations, and Grounds based on assigned location. The director will assist in planning, organizing and directing all department functions and activities. May manages construction and remodeling projects. Responsible to establish goals, objectives, standards of performance and assist to develop policies and procedures. The Director will be accountable to interpret policies, standards and regulations to personnel, patients, medical staff and the public.

Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, developing, training, and retaining employees; planning, assigning, and leading work; appraising performance; rewarding and coaching employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; with minimum of three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
  • Three to five years related leadership experience required.
  • Facility Services leadership experience preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

  • This position requires a valid driver’s license and that the employee is insurable by the Avera Health automobile liability insurance carrier.
  • Certified Healthcare Facilities Manager (CHFM) preferred
  • American Society of Healthcare Engineers (ASHE) preferred
  • Registered Professional Engineer preferred
