Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor's or Doctorate degree in Pharmacy,
- Current New Jersey State license as Registered Pharmacist in good standing
- Minimum five years of hospital pharmacy experience required
- Familiarity with all phases of hospital Pharmacy and a working knowledge of public health matters, as well as, Federal and State laws regulating the professional and hospital practice of Pharmacy,
- Understands the role of the Hospital Pharmacy Department within the hospital and its interrelationships with other departments and functions
Preferred:
- Three years supervisory experience preferred
- Completion of hospital pharmacy residency and/or advanced pharmacy degree preferred,
- Advanced skills with Microsoft applications, EPIC, Pyxis preferred,
Scheduling Requirements:
- Full-Time
- Day Shift
- 40 hours per week
Essential Functions:
- Oversees compliance with all regulatory requirements for departmental operations including NJ Board of Pharmacy, Joint Commission, DEA, FDA, CMS, NJDOH and other state/federal regulatory bodies
- Assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of quality improvement programs, pharmacy staff recruiting/retention/training, and staff development in relation to departmental operations
- Manages departmental and hospital policies related to pharmaceutical services in collaboration with leadership
- Assists Director in meeting the mission and vision to promote patient safety, formulary compliance, cost-effective practice, teamwork, productivity, and positive patient outcomes
- Actively participate with external departments at the local and system levels to support optimizing patient care and best practice
- Completes duties associated with pharmacy management, including employee relations and providing cross coverage for other leadership responsibilities as needed
- Provides leadership and direction to Pharmacy team members
- Responsible for performance evaluations in compliance with system policy
- Promotes positive relations and actively contributes to a positive work environment
- Plans for efficient and effective utilization of resources
- Assists in planning, monitoring, and maintaining the budget in areas of the functional area of the department
- Position will participate in on call Pharmacy Administrator responsibilities
- Perform other duties as required
