About This Position
Summary:
The Building 2 Plant Manager is the top level accountability in the Building 2 business unit. The Plant Manager steers the course of the business by providing planning to meet the corporate business objectives (Strategic), while being responsible for day to day activities within their business units (Tactical). Using the CPS Core Values, Plant Managers are expected to balance being People Focused, Customer Focused, and CPS Focused. All are important and one cannot overshadow the other two or cultural dysfunction will result. Plant Managers need to work through others to be successful, meaning they need to demonstrate excellent communication, accountability, and critical thinking (decision making) attributes in their work behaviors.
Requirements:Accountable Functions and Responsibilities:
People Focused:
- Establish, maintain/improve, and measure a culture of safety within the business unit.
- Provide leadership, training, and development to direct reports.
- Utilize existing training and help develop new training tools for use in the business unit.
- Provide a culture of engagement for all employees within the business unit.
- Use information learned through employee engagement to create growth and developmental plans for the business unit employees, aligning with their personal aspirations.
Customer Focused:
- Understand customer requirements with regard to process and specification and assure both are maintained in operation.
- As a business unit, provide exceptional process information and details to satisfy customer information requirements and requests.
- Provide and execute to commitments for products to be available to the customer.
CPS Focused:
- Deliver as a business unit the revenue expected and committed to on a monthly basis.
- Assure business unit operates within the financial budget.
- Collaborate with EHS, Quality, Maintenance, Logistics, Planning, and Engineering to deliver the manufacturing plan within Job Metrics.
- Work with other Plant Managers and Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) to deliver the best overall business plan from a corporate perspective.
Key Functional Roles:
- Ensure the business unit is run to optimize output without compromising employee Health and Safety or Product Quality through shift attainment, uptime, and efficiency.
- Responsible for leading the daily production meeting and establishing clear communication of short and long term operational targets and goals.
- Responsible for maintaining accuracy of production elements of management information systems including financial reporting, CMMS, ERP, and HRM systems.
- Ensure that direct and indirect employees receive regular feedback on their performance related to established Goals & Objectives and to CPS Core Values.
Other Key Roles:
- Conduct periodic evaluation of business requirements and communicate to corporate management if requirements are not readily available within defined responsibility scope.
- Participate in the budgeting process to set achievable financial goals for resources
- Share knowledge and expertise with others in the business unit to improve business execution
- Direct reporting and oversight of direct and indirect reports as well as hourly support staff from other expertise areas (Maintenance, Quality, Warehouse, etc.) either directly or matrixed
- Perform any other related duty as identified by Senior Leadership

Required Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline and three years of related experience in Manufacturing Leadership.
• Alternatively, Bachelor’s degree in a related field and ten years of related experience in Manufacturing Leadership.
• Champion and embodiment of CPS Core Values
• Willingness to work as part of a collaborative team, promoting trust and respect.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and oral, including proficiency in Office Suite applications.
• Willingness to accept the demands of a twenty-four hour, seven day manufacturing operation
• Ability to multitask and establish priorities in an environment of competing expectations.
• Willingness to continue education and personal development for the purposes of staying up to date with industry, technology, and regulatory requirements.
• Desire to be a change agent, not getting discouraged, but persevering through times of conflict.
• Flexible and openminded to change while at the same time being able to hold an unwavering position.
• Previous experience in developing personnel.
• Ability to analyze data, look for trends, and draw conclusions for said data

• Reading Campus (primary work location) – 98% of time
• East Greenville Campus (secondary location) – 2% of time
