Our peer specialists are essential members of our care teams, working across office settings, community environments, and as part of crisis stabilization teams. Under the guidance and supervision of licensed mental health or substance use disorder professionals, peer specialists provide lived-experience mentorship, emotional support, and practical guidance to individuals and families navigating behavioral health challenges. Their unique perspective fosters hope, resilience, and engagement, bridging clinical care and community resources to promote recovery and well-being.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Assist individuals and families in identifying meaningful services and activities that promote recovery, resilience, and a sense of purpose.
  • Support clients in developing personalized recovery goals and strategies tailored to their unique strengths and challenges.
  • Share relevant lived experiences to inspire hope and model effective coping and recovery techniques.
  • Encourage and promote personal responsibility and empowerment throughout the recovery journey.
  • Facilitate access to a broad range of supports including stable housing, education, employment, self-advocacy skills, and the development of supportive relationships.
  • Serve as a strong advocate for clients, ensuring their voices are heard within the treatment team and community systems.
  • Model recovery and self-management skills to empower clients in maintaining wellness.
  • Accurately complete documentation of services provided in compliance with Medicaid and employer requirements, ensuring confidentiality and data integrity.
