This role is not a remote opportunity, it is on-site at our Distribution Center in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Scope:

The Warehouse Manager directly supervises and coordinates activities of the Warehouse Supervisors. The Warehouse Manager will be required to carry out all functions for food safety and quality as described in the guidelines presented in the SQF code. Responsibilities include aspects of shipping, receiving, and inventory accuracy for warehousing. Other duties include reconciliation from inbound shipments, various vendors and outbound shipments.

Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of material movement in the plant location as well as coordination of material movement from plant to DC and Inbound raw materials
  • Accountable for the inventory accuracy of raw materials and finished goods in department
  • Direct Supervisory team in the efficient and safe operation of Warehouse activities
  • Direct and delegate activities and assignments of all Warehouse functions as it relates to Operations including planning and implementation and leading improvement initiatives
  • Assist in preparation of annual budget forecast, evaluate weekly performance, and recommend adjustments
  • Lead team of salaried and hourly employees
  • Manage all labor expenses and monitor weekly Payroll
  • Execute established safety and security programs
  • Inspect physical conditions of warehouses and equipment. Recommend maintenance, repair, or replacement as necessary
  • Participate in the development and implementation of service & productivity improvement initiatives to increase customer satisfaction & reduce operating expense
  • Monitor and maintain established programs
  • Conduct performance management activities including, annual performance appraisals and design of training and career development plans
  • Ensure that progressive coaching and counseling concepts are conducted according to established policies and procedures
  • Review workforce staffing plans to ensure proper levels are allocated to meet business demands
  • Lead and support all Safety Program and Policy initiatives
  • Accountable for product quality in terms of appearance, completeness and ensuring appropriate testing and inspection has been completed
  • Accountable for maintaining a high level of food safety, cleanliness and meeting HACCP and SQF requirements
  • Responsible for the creation and compliance to standard procedures for all operations
  • Accountable to department budget attainment
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s in Business or Logistics Management is strongly preferred
  • Minimum of three to six years of progressively responsible experience in a related operations management function. Hands on related warehouse experience is highly desired
  • Working knowledge of Warehouse management functions & exposure to a combination of disciplines including, Quality Assurance, Equipment, Building & Grounds, Maintenance, Sanitation, Human Resources, Safety & Training
  • Knowledge of Warehouse safety regulatory standards
  • Proficiency with personal computer operations specifically MS Office. Strong proficiency in MS Excel
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Warehouse Management Systems
  • Solid understanding of Fiscal Budgets
  • Ability to lead team meetings and convey operational requirements to Warehouse Associates
  • Ability to analyze trends and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Professional communications skills including demonstrated proficiency with internal and external customer and vendor communications and relationship management
  • Leadership skills including team building, coaching and mentoring for personnel development
  • Ability to work effectively in a high energy, fast paced, customer focused environment
  • Demonstrated interpersonal skills and conflict resolution sufficient to communicate performance expectations and motivate and retain staff members
  • Solid Analytical Skills
  • Manufacturing experience preferred
  • 5S, TPM experience

Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to physically perform the functions of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, and repetitive motions
  • Must be able to work seated using a computer and phone for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to work extended hours, such as daily overtime and an occasional weekend
  • Must possess visual acuity to document company records
  • Continuous walking throughout plant and distribution center.
  • Lifting up to 40 pounds
