REPORTS TO: Division Manager

EFFECTIVE DATE: February 2026

SUMMARY: The Commercial Project Manager leads the planning, coordination, and execution of commercial landscape construction projects from pre-construction through closeout. This role is responsible for managing project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, procurement, and on-site crews while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and contractual requirements. Working within a fast-paced, multi-project environment, the Project Manager drives operational efficiency, profitability, quality control, and strong client relationships to ensure successful project delivery..DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Organizational Leadership & Culture

2. Project Planning & Execution
  • Develop, manage, and track project plans, schedules, budgets, and timelines for residential landscaping projects.
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, budget, and quality standards.
  • Identify, assess, and resolve project risks and issues.
  • Maintain a clear understanding of project scope, labour requirements, materials, and sequencing.
  • Implement and refine systems to optimize workflow and operational efficiency.
3. Resource & Operations Management
  • Plan, coordinate, and ensure availability of crews, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
  • Conduct site assessments and maintain safe, organized residential work sites.
  • Maintain knowledge of residential landscaping systems, plant materials, irrigation, hardscaping, and installation methods.
4. Financial Management
  • Meet project targets by managing labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractor costs.
  • Communicate and monitor man-hour budgets with crew leaders.
  • Support revenue growth through estimating, client communication, and upselling landscaping services.
5. Administration & Reporting
  • Oversee administrative tasks including work tickets, purchase receipts, timesheets, invoices, client billing, and AR collection.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and project documentation; ensure field teams have all necessary project information.
  • Prepare reports and documentation for project oversight, client updates, and audits.
6. Team Leadership & Supervision
  • Manage Field Manager(s), Project Coordinators, crew leaders, crews, and subcontractors.
  • Set performance expectations, coach staff, and conduct performance appraisals.
  • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and workforce planning.
7. Quality, Safety & Compliance
  • Ensure work meets project plans, quality standards, and contractual requirements.
  • Maintain safety programs, training, and compliance with regulations and company policies.
  • Monitor adherence to company policies through Field Manager oversight.
8. Client & Stakeholder Management
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships; respond promptly to inquiries and change requests.
  • Provide a high standard of customer service to ensure client satisfaction and repeat business.
9. General
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

*Seasonal Transition: Snow & Ice Management

From November through April, Park Landscaping shifts focus from pools to snow and ice management. During this time, the role becomes a Snow Removal Project Manager, overseeing a specific division such as Sidewalks, Parking Lots, or Special Projects. Core project management and administrative responsibilities remain, adapted for winter operations.

  • Work hours are weather-dependent and may include evenings, weekends, and holidays to ensure safe and timely service during snow and ice events.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years’ of progressive experience managing residential landscaping or construction projects.

    • Proven ability to manage crews, subcontractors, budgets, and schedules in year-round operations.

  • Education & Certification: Post-secondary education in Landscape Design, Horticulture, Construction Management, or Business.

  • Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with Alberta OHS regulations and industry best practices.

  • Systems & Technical Experience: Intermediate or higher proficiency with project management and office software (e.g., LMN, SiteDocs, Google Workspace); experience with Aspire or similar industry-specific systems is considered an asset.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Mix of office work and hands-on site visits in all weather conditions.

  • Frequent walking, standing, and climbing on uneven terrain; occasional lifting up to 25–30 kg.

  • Exposure to construction sites, landscaping equipment, and materials.

  • Flexible schedule with occasional evenings or weekends during peak periods.
