Description
The Department of Geosciences at Princeton University has an opening for a professional technician in the area of mineralogy and geophysics appointed at the rank of Associate Professional Specialist. Duties will include but are not limited to: (1) Application of Raman Spectoscopy, X-ray fluorescence and other analytical techniques for characterization of geological materials; (2) Assistance in solid Earth and mineral-focused course work, scientific communication, and Geodata analysis; (3) Preparation and curation of samples for research and teaching activities according to professional standards of curation; and (4) Development of materials and activities for Geoscience programs including design and installation of mineral exhibitions.
The position is available for one year, with a possibility for renewal contingent upon satisfactory performance. This position is subject to the University's background check policy. The work location for this position is in-person on campus at Princeton University.
This position is not eligible for sponsorship of an H-1B visa requiring consular processing.
