Our Design Studio team, in our Chicago office, is seeking aBIM Technician. This role will support the engineering of systems for a variety of projects while working closely with clients, client reps, architects, and MEP engineers in creating designs for allkindsof spaces.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, and frequently is required to walk. Position Overview
At dbHMS, a BIM Technician applies knowledge of modeling and drafting software to support the engineering team in the development of construction drawings for a wide variety of projects including: educational, government, multi-family residential, recreational, hospitality, mixed use, and commercial facilities.
Essential Job Functions
  • Project Design Support
    • Set up and maintain project BIM models in Autodesk Revit, BIM360, and ACC.
    • Perform quality checks to ensure professional quality drawings using BIM standards.
    • Assist design engineers with internal coordination using Revit's Clash Detection, Navisworks, Enscape, etc.
    • Coordinate BIM standards with clients and team members to ensure consistency with project requirements and professional quality.
    • Facilitate external meetings for BIM coordination across trades using Enscape, Navisworks Manage, etc.
  • BIM Technical Support
    • Provide technical assistance to design engineers with troubleshooting Revit issues.
    • Work with design engineers to maintain and update the office Revit library, including library families, templates, and custom family development.
    • Train entry and intermediate-level design engineers to improve Revit proficiency across the design team.
    • Research and develop improvements to standard BIM-related design workflows under the supervision of BIM Coordinator and Senior Design Engineers.
Requirements
  • Minimum Education: A.S. or B.S. degree in an architectural, engineering, or related program.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience with Revit.
  • Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently.
  • Ability to independently seek out and quickly assimilate new information from external sources to solve problems.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to operate other drafting software including AutoCAD (2008 and newer), Navisworks, Enscape, or similar modeling programs.
  • Experience with Dynamo script development or similar Revit automation tools.
  • Autodesk Certification.
  • Other specialty certifications and accreditations such as LEED AP, etc.
