Trystar’s team members are our most important asset, we are in search of a Senior Electrical Engineer – Systems Integration to join our team (Burnsville, MN; Faribault, MN; Houston, TX; Pointe-Claire, QC; Charlotte, NC, Victoria, BC). As part of the engineering team, the Senior Electrical Engineer will see products from the engineering prototype phase to series production. You will be responsible for the design, development, and installation of new technology offerings within the Research, Development, and Engineering - Power Distribution team. This includes power distribution, power test equipment, temporary back-up power products, and energy storage technologies. In this role you will get to:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical and software engineering.
- Design,prototype,develop, and commercializea range of products includingloadbanks,temporarygeneratordockingstations,UL-891-compliantswitchboards,UL1558-compliant switchgear,automatictransferswitches, and more.
- Designwiringschematicsand specifyrequiredequipment for multi-layer power distribution systems.
- Support hands on installation and testing of new products
- Definenew product integration testingplans.
- Lead electrical design effortsduringnewproduct development projectssuch as selecting and qualifying electrical components, ensuring electromagnetic compatibility,
Job Requirements:
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineeringoran equivalent.
- 5+years of experience inACelectrical systemproduct design, installation, or technical support.
- Proficiencywithelectrical design softwaresuch as AutoCAD Electrical, SolidWorks Electrical,and others.
- Experiencewith implementation, installation, or startup of power distribution equipment such as switchgear, switchboards, transfer switches, load banks, and generators.
- Experience withthecreation of detailedtechnicalproduct documentation to support productmanufacturing,functionaltesting,certification testing,and customer requests.
- Ability tospecify safeandeffective testing practicesfor prototype testing.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Experienceselectingandvalidatingelectricalpower distributioncomponents, such as Circuit Breakers, Contactors, Cable, Terminal Blocks,etc,based on application specific requirementsandindustry standard derating criteriasuch as the NEC, UL, and others,
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS
- NFPA 70E Certification.
- Experience with UL891,UL1558,UL508, UL1008, UL9540,and otherstandards.
- Experience with ERP, PLM, and Engineering Vault software.
- Experience withenergystoragesystems for critical infrastructure.
- Experience withdesign orsupport of metal-enclosedswitchgear orswitchboards.
- Experience developing and/orvalidatingcontrol circuits and logic.
- Proficiencywith power systemsanalysis.
- Position may require up to 25%travelwithin North America.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
