Duties/Responsibilities:
- Operational Leadership through overseeing daily room flow, treatment board management, and surgery coordination; monitoring patient throughput and adjusting staffing assignments as needed; identifying and resolving workflow bottlenecks in real time; ensuring adherence to hospital protocols and standards of care and maintaining operational consistency across all back-of-house functions.
- Team Supervision and Accountability by providing daily supervision of technicians and assistants; delivering in-the-moment coaching and performance feedback; reinforcing hospital culture, expectations, and professionalism; supporting onboarding and structured training of new hires; escalating employee relations concerns to the Operations Manager as appropriate; develop employee schedule based on needs of the DVM schedule and overseeing PTO request for RVT, Va and Ta staff members.
- Training and Development of staff by supporting skills development and competency tracking; assisting in maintaining training checklists and protocols; ensuring surgical and treatment standards are consistently followed and partnering with DVMs to improve case support efficiency.
- Support Performance through monitoring operational metrics including appointment utilization, labor efficiency, workflow efficiency; communicating trends and opportunities to the Hospital Manager and supporting action plans to improve efficiency and patient care delivery
- Client Service
- Support service recovery when needed
- Ensure client communication standards are upheld

Required Skills/Abilities
- Ability to work with or around sick animals, potentially hazardous materials, cleaning chemicals, gas anesthetics, and unpleasant odors.
- Ability to always communicate professionally and effectively and maintain professionalism in emotionally charged / challenging situations.
- Ability to provide high quality customer service embodying a yes culture for clients.
- Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
- Ability to work effectively with computers, software, and electronics.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift patients with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Ability to sit or stand for extended periods of time and walk intermittently?
- Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands, and/or fingers
- The ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds with or without accommodation
Education and Experience:
- 3+ years veterinary hospital experience required
- 3+ years prior supervisory or lead experience preferred
- Strong understanding of veterinary workflow and surgery support
- Ability to lead with accountability and professionalism
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
